#21 Fun

Back at Port Burwell, on the shores of Lake Erie, yesterday for a beachside stroll and picnic.  It's a rather understated form of "fun" but this little fellow (in the foreground) and his grandad were having lots of it, paddling along at water's edge, showing his bucket off to anyone who would stop long enough.  Then the bigger boy stepped in between them and kind of upset the connection between little guy and grandad.  Don't think they were too upset but it changed the feel of the photo I was trying for, with the the two people in it.  (Having great difficulty seeing images on the LCD screen in sunlight nowadays - cataracts, soon to be corrected I hope!  Even trying to see through the viewfinder is a challenge these days - :(  )

  1. Like the touch Rugby game of Life - Shirts versus No-Shirts, It's playing that counts! You'll do fine with the cataracts, Sally had hers don and never looked back -(Get it)

  2. There's a nice dynamic here--one senses the connection between the child and his grandfather, even with the boy intervening.

  3. I understand what you are saying about the two of them, but this is a great shot nonetheless, I really like how you've captured Grandpa looking back protectively over his shoulder, nicely done and very sweet photo, there is so much here.

  4. This is sweet indeed, love that Granddad is looking back.

Amazing that the cataract surgery is so quick and effective and safe. My mom was nervous about getting it becouse her mom spent a month in the hospital after getting it. (circa 1960?)
